Characterization of Palm Acid Oil
What is Palm Acid Oil?
Palm acid oil (PAO) may be a by-product obtained from the alkaline refining of vegetable oil. The properties and composition of PAO may differ consistent with variations within the vegetable oil feedstock and therefore the alkaline refining process.
The six parameters analyzed were moisture and free carboxylic acid content, peroxide value, iodine value, saponification value, and unsaponifiable matter. PAO consists of FFA (over 50%) and neutral oil, with 2-3% moisture and other impurities. It’s very almost like palm carboxylic acid distillate (PFAD), but it’s FFA is usually lower. Palm Acid Oil is widely used for mixing in transportation fuel known as biodiesels and biofuels.

Total Fatty Matter 95% min. (basic 97%)
What is the Utilization of Palm Acid Oil?
Palm acid oil (PAO) is usually utilized in making laundry soaps, producing calcium soaps for animal feed, and distilled carboxylic acid production. It also used as the base material for biodiesel manufacturing and as a chemical intermediate to manufacture palm-based different fatty acids for industrial uses. Mainly palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, and linoleic acid are manufactured form palm acid oil.
